Orphan Jon & The Abandoned were invited by Five Star Talent in affiliation with Omega Events and in association with the Orange County Market Place to perform at the 2017 SoCal Battle of the Blues Bands “Six String Shootout” at the O.C. Market Place in Costa Mesa, Ca. The event is a 12 band competition, spread out through 4 days: comprising of 3 bands per day, to select a winner from each day to compete in the Finals. OJATA performed on Sunday May 14th along with Dennis Spencer & The Tall Guy Blues Band and The Artur Menezes Band before an enthusiastic crowd. The judging is based upon song selection, musicianship, stage presence and audience participation. After the points were tallied from the judges, OJATA emerged the winner of the round, and will go into the Finals on Saturday June 24th to compete against the winners from the three other days of competition. OJATA is very honored to be given the opportunity to share the stage with such amazing talent as was on display on May 14th and will be on June 24th.
