On May 28th it was announced that Orphan Jon and The Abandoned have been nominated for Best Modern Roots CD for “Abandoned No More” for the 2019 Independent Blues Awards. We’re extremely honored to be nominated along with today’s top artists in the Blues industry; artists such as Buddy Guy, Walter Trout, Samantha Fish, Mike Zito, Delta Moon, Victor Wainwright and Larkin Poe, just to name a few. For us, just to be nominated is a tremendous accomplishment, and a testament to our mindset at the beginning of this musical journey to just be who we are, with no imitating or copying of our contemporaries, or those before us. Indy Blues Awards is our third music award nomination to date for our debut album “Abandoned No More” And another confirmation of the unique style and sound that has garnered much more than ever anticipated or expected, for that, we’re very grateful to you all for the love and support given. This nomination is as much about you; our fans, as it is about us.
