Orphan Jon and The Abandoned were invited to perform at the 7th Annual Kern River Rock N Blues Fest in beautiful picturesque Kernville, Ca. Saturday September 23rd. The weather was in the mid 70’s, but the music was scorching hot, as several well established bands of Southern and the Central San Joaquin Valley of California brought their style of Americana, Rock and Blues to the main stage throughout the weekend. OJATA stepped on stage at 6PM; before the headliner 2000 lbs of Blues, to a full ruckus crowd. The energy the crowd brought along with the performances by the bands made this festival a great event to be at. Promoters KayKay Jagger of Rip Kitty and Orion Sanders of Notorious Entertainment have created such a fun 4 day fest that has people coming from all over the state of California to enjoy. Big thanks to all involved in making the fest what is and for inviting OJATA to share their music with so many fans of the Blues. The weekend included the following performances by headliners 3 Sista Blues on Friday; featuring Deb Ryder, Kelly Zirbes and Shari Pourto and 2ooo lbs of Blues on Saturday; featuring Pink Arguallo, Junior Watson, Billy Watson, Johnny Main, JR Lozano and Chris Smith. Other performances were provided by Crooked Eye Tommy, Black Market III, 60 Grit Band, Warfield and Eric Von Herzen.
